"Georgian and Victorian Tiles" a FREE talk - Saturday 30th November 2019
On Saturday 30th November 2019 we welcomed Hans Van Lemmen to the Wisbech and Fenland Museum for a FREE talk on “Decorative Tiles in Georgian and Victorian in Domestic Architecture”.
Hans is a leading expert in architectural tiles and ceramics and president of the Tiles and Architectural Ceramics Society (TACS) who was able to tell visitors about the history and development of tiles used in period homes. Following on from the talk and a short break for refreshments, there was an opportunity to look at and handle some examples of historic tiles led by Robert Higgins, also from TACS.
The library was packed and visitors came from far and wide to take part.
This was another FREE talk from our series on Historic Buildings and Interiors, organised by Fenland District Council’s Wisbech High Street Project and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
