Providing Free Workshops for residents to learn more about the problems encountered when living or working in an old building

We are planning to run a series of annual Workshops for owners, occupiers of old or listed buildings where people can come along and learn from historic building specialists on topics such as windows, damp, brickwork repair, roof maintenance, chimneys, plaster and drainage.

The event is being organised by the High Street Project with support from FDC Conservation Officers and a representative from the Wisbech Society, Aldo Ierubino. You can read Aldo’s Blog about his involvement.

To accompany this Activity the project has produced a practical guide to maintaining older properties along with guidance for owners of listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas. The booklet called “Love it or Lose It” can be downloaded from the Downloads and Resources page

The first workshop was on Saturday 25th August 2018 at Octavia View. Read about the event here.

The second workshop was on Saturday 2nd March 2019 at Octavia Hill Birthplace Museum. Read about the event here.
