Opening up the Wisbech and Fenland Museum and other historic properties  for evening events to engage new audiences and young people

Wisbech has a wealth of interesting and important historic buildings, including those in and around the High Street. When putting together the application for the High Street Project to the Heritage Lottery Fund, discussion with the local community and in particular local students, indicated a strong desire to engage with the heritage of Wisbech in new and interesting ways. One way to explore some of the many of the buildings is through a “Museums at Night” event.

Each year the Wisbech High Street Project will work with venues to open their doors and hold events as part of the national programme. These events will raise the profile of Wisbech’s heritage and improve learning and understanding of buildings, heritage and the town centre.
